Navona Square

In the seventeenth century, Pope Innocent X renovated and transformed a disused stadium into the current, lively and famous Piazza Navona Piazza which today houses a variety of restaurants and cafes. To admire the characteristic Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini; just opposite on the west side, stands the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone by his most bitter rival, Borromini.
