National Palace of Queluz, Portugal
Located between Lisbon and Sintra, the National palace of Queluz is one of the leading examples of the rococo and neoclassical architectural styles from the second half of the 18th century in Portugal. The palace was initially designed as a summer house and was the preferred place for the royal family’s leisure and entertainment. Thanks to its grandeur and beauty, the National Palace of Queluz has changed hands over the centuries and have been the residence to many a rulers in the years that formed this monument’s history. One of the wings of this palace is now treated as a guest house which is allocated to the foreign heads of state visiting Portugal.
