The Museum of the Risorgimento and the Resistance in Vicenza is an exhibition space that stands on the Ambellicopoli hill, at Villa Guiccioli, shortly after the Sanctuary of Monte Berico, dedicated mainly to the Risorgimento and the Italian Resistance. The museum is surrounded by a large English garden, which is also open to the public. The museum collects the memories of events and personalities belonging to the history of Italy, with particular attention to the historical war events related to the city. The documents and memorabilia in the collections bear witness to events in Vicenza and in Italy and, in some cases, in Europe, in particular the events of war, ranging from the first Italian campaign of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796, to the Vicentine uprisings of 1848, the exploits of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Risorgimento, the First World War, the Italian colonial wars, the Second World War and the struggle for liberation (1943 – 1945). In the external courtyard there are some Austrian cannons and howitzers, dating back to the First World War.
