The Contrada della Tartuca Museum is annexed to the Oratory of the Contrada in via Tommaso Pendola, dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, a beautiful example of a Baroque building in Siena, built between 1682 and 1685 by Niccolò and Iacomo Franchini.
The route is divided into three sections. The Museum of Sacred Furniture, inaugurated in 2008, preserves sacred furnishings belonging to the Contrada. Among them there is a chiselled and embossed silver masgalan dated 1562, depicting the Rape of Europe, while the Costume Museum preserves the mounts, that is the costumes used for the historical procession from the second half of the 19th century to the present day. Finally, the section of the Palio Museum preserves the Drappelloni won by the contrada, including those painted by great artists such as Fernando Botero and Igor Mitoraj.
