Museum of San Mamiliano
In the heart of the ancient village of Sovana, during the restoration work carried out by the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage and Landscape of the provinces of Siena and Grosseto for the structural recovery of the church of San Mamiliano and its transformation into a museum, an archaeological survey has been carried out over the last decade that has revealed a site of great interest.
About 500 precious gold coins from the imperial era. An enormous quantity of pieces, on which many different Roman emperors are depicted. A priceless value that will now be kept in its place of origin.
