The Museo della Pietra Piegata (Museum of Folded Stone) bears witness to the history of stone-working that has characterised the territory of the Apuan Alps and the village of Levigliani in particular for centuries.
Inside the museum there is a series of works of worked stone, from the manufactured articles of practical use to the works of sacred art, works that belong to the recent past and very ancient works, up to the testimonies of the pre-Roman civilization of the Apuan Ligurians.
The working of stone has always been primary in the economy of the territory of Alta Versilia, since the most remote centuries and still today represents an essential candle for the sustenance of the communities that live of their work on these mountains.
