Founded by Monsignor Domenico Mambrini (1879-1944) in the early decades of the twentieth century, over the years it has been enriched with materials from the archaeological sites in Galicia (Roman city of Mevaniola and villa of Teodorico), the abbey of S. Ellero and the churches in the area. The museum is housed in the Renaissance convent of the Minor Fathers of Pianetto and is divided into two distinct sections: the historical-artistic section, with works of heterogeneous origin, in which the frescoes from the church of S. Maria al Pantano stand out; the archaeological section, in which there are objects that document the ancient population in the upper Bidente Valley from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
