Medieval village of Mondovì

A medieval village just a few kilometres from Cuneo, a destination for trips out of town for the Cuneo people and lovers of food and wine tourism. Founded in 1198, it stands on a hill that is easy to reach thanks to the funicular railway and its narrow streets all lead to the heart of the town: Piazza Maggiore. The square is surrounded by porticoes, overlooked by the 13th-century Palazzo dei Bressani, the palaces of the Governor, the Subprefecture, the Municipality and the Baroque church of the Jesuits. Also in Piazza Maggiore is the Museum of Old Ceramics, housed in the rooms of Palazzo Fauzone di Germagnano. There are many typical restaurants and trattorias offering the refined products of the territory prepared both in the traditional way and in the most gourmet ways, all combined with the great wines of Piedmont.
