With a gauge of 900 millimetres, the Mecklenburg Seaside Railway Molli is one of the oldest narrow-gauge railways in the world. Steam locomotives built in 1932 and 1951 take you from Bad Doberan via Heiligendamm to the Baltic resort of Kühlungsborn.
The historic journey takes 40 minutes and is a must for all railway enthusiasts. It’s up to you whether you make the journey from Bad Doberan to Kühlungsborn or vice versa. If you wish, you can also get on at Heiligendamm or one of the other stops along the way.
Various events, such as a brewmaster train, a special train with a workshop tour or a treasure hunt round off the offer. A ride on the 100-year-old train is also an experience. Here, old carriages with original refurbished interiors are used.
Catering is also provided for the guests. During the journey, visitors can be served in the saloon car. The Mollirestaurant “Gleis” is also located at Kühlungsborn Ost station. From 12 noon to 9 p.m. every day you can dine here in the nostalgic steam train ambience.
The museum café at Kühlungsborn West station is a good place to watch the passing locomotives. You can also visit the adjacent Molli Museum with its numerous historical photos, documents and tools free of charge and learn more about the history of the Bäderbahn.
