Martina Franca: the Palace of the University

During the Middle Ages, the University Palace was the seat of the local parliament, the Quare was a group of citizens, with equal rights and without social distinctions, who came together to talk and address problems of common interest. It was a fundamental political institution that Ferdinand of Aragon, King of Naples, granted to Martina to guarantee a fair administration of the city’s resources.
