The attentive visitor that is inside the Cathedral of Arezzo, in fact, will undoubtedly notice the wonderful stained glass windows that run on the south side of the church. The best times to admire them are during the day, when they are kissed by the sunlight that emphasizes the wonderful chiaroscuro and the particular color shades of velvet and marble.
Guillame De Marcillat was a renowned French artist. He was born in fact in La Chatre in 1470. Although he painted frescoes, such as these on the vaults of Arezzo’s cathedral, and panels, his fame is linked to the decoration of stained-glass windows that will be considered real works of art just like those in Arezzo’s cathedral.
The works represent scenes from the New Testament.
