Manhattan and The Cloisters Museum & Gardens

The Cloisters Museum & Gardens – a reconstructed Romanesque abbey in Manhattan On the banks of the Hudson River, in the northernmost part of the island of Manhattan, there is in fact a real Romanesque abbey. And by real I mean "original". Or rather: a Romanesque abbey perfectly reconstructed with original pieces taken from Spanish and French medieval buildings from the 12th to 15th century and reassembled in New York City. It’s called The Cloisters Museum & Gardens and it’s the detached section of the Metropolitan Museum dedicated to medieval art.
