On the northern tip of Mallorca is the Cap de Formentor, where the top end of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range meets the Mediterranean. Cap de Formentor literally means ‘end of Formentor’.A windswept lighthouse stands on this promontory and, although it’s not open to visitors, you can walk around its rocky surroundings, looking out to the cliffs where Eleonora’s falcons nest in the winter. You can also spot seabirds in their thousands during migration periods.
