Makua Cave is an ancient Cave, regarded as holy by the Hawaiian indigenous religion. The cave is situated on a mountain side overlooking the beach of Kaena Point (On the far west side of the island of Oahu, Hawaii, USA). There is an Upper Makua Cave and a Lower Makua Cave – the Lower cave one is much deeper but lacks the breathtaking view. The hike is about 30 minutes long – depending on the season (when it is wet it might be slippery and when hot.. well you better do everything slower – Don’t forget Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and sufficient amount of water.)
