Los Angeles, owes its current name from its original name: Ciudad de la Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles sobra la Porziuncola de Asis, or City of the Church of Our Lady of the Angels of the Porzincola of Assisi (the Porziuncola is a church located just outside the City of Assisi – Italy, in the locality Sa Maria degli Angeli).
