Speaking of places not to be missed in Lithuania, we cannot fail to mention the Isthmus of Courland, which was formed as far back as 5000 years ago. It is a peninsula 98 kilometres long between Lithuania and Russia, between the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Courland, characterised by sand dunes which, in some places, reach a remarkable height of 60 metres.
An extraordinarily suggestive place, made even more special by the presence of old fishing villages faithful to a centuries-old tradition and the Nida cemetery with ancient works of funerary art.
