Lake Averno is located within the municipality of Pozzuoli, precisely west of Naples, the capital of Campania. The fact that it is a volcanic lake, makes it unique and perhaps one of the most beautiful in our country. Its structure has influenced a lot from the historical and cultural point of view (for example for the Greeks and Romans it was a sort of access point to the Underworld), but especially from the tourist point of view. In fact, it is surrounded by some important tourist resorts, such as Cuma, the ancient Roman city rich in history and monumental structures, the Temple of Apollo, the Campi Flegrei and the Grotta di Cocceio.
It should also be added that the beauty of this lake is given above all by the fauna: walking around you can notice the presence of unusual but also common animals, such as turtles.
