The Withworth Art Gallery is located in the University District and is set like a jewel in a beautiful park. Created in 1889 – in memory of the engineer of the same name – and enlarged in 2015, it displays works of modern and contemporary art. The Whitworth contains around 55,000 objects in its collection.
If from the outside the museum is a majestic red-brick building, inside – thanks to the transparent windows – the space dialogues with the outside, in a continuous interplay between inside and outside.
