Located in the province of Malaga, midway between Malaga and Gibraltar, on the slopes of the Ronda mountains, in the municipality of Benahavis and just 5 kilometers from the town of San Pedro Alcantara, which is between the famous summer resorts of the Costa del Sol, Marbella and Estepona. La Heredia is located on the road leading inland from the coast to the spectacularly beautiful city of Ronda. It is a replica of a typical white Andalusian village, from where the views are truly magnificent not only of the Spanish coast but across the sea, Gibraltar and North Africa.
The original idea came from the Spanish interior designer Jaime Parladé and his brother Francisco, whose family developed in the estate from their personel property the Urbanisation El Madroñal. In the area of high-density, La Heredia was createdwith the idea of making it look like a village that had been there forever. A set of apartments, townhouses and villas of different sizes, shapes and colors that recreates the atmosphere of an authentic Andalusian village.
Each house was built with its own personality with traditional materials and handicraft, old doors from Ronda, old wrought iron window and balconies as well as hand painted tiles . The name La Heredia was given in memory of an ancestor of the Parladés, Don Manuel Agustin Heredia and the streets have the names of relatives or employees of “ Alcuzcuz”, the family estate, street names like Alcuzcuz, Jaime Parladé, Maria Gross or the Ana Trompilla square. Clean cobbled streets, squares , flower beds or gardens make every corner of La Heredia have a part in the history of Andalusia.
