La Colombaia is the mythical summer residence of Luchino Visconti. Today it is the main place of Visconti’s memory and since 2004 it houses the first nucleus of the permanent museum dedicated to the great Master.
The museum wing of Villa La Colombaia, as well as preserving evidence of the life and works of the Count of Modrone and his relationship with the island, will be able to bring back to life the magic and charm of the house at the time of Visconti, with a coherent and evocative reconstruction. The costumes used on the scenes and sets by the director, the furnishings, including sketches, photos and screenplays: a complex and unique mosaic to bring the soul and communicative power of Visconti back to the house.
