La Cacciarella

One of the most common comments about La Cacciarella is that "it’s worth the effort". To get to the Argentario cove you have to walk along a steep dirt path, but the crystal clear sea with its infinite shades of blue makes up for the hard work. La Cacciarella does not have any kind of service and it is necessary to arrive "equipped". The sandy beach is "tiny" and is surrounded by a crown of rocks that can be used to sit and sunbathe (better with appropriate shoes). The small bay is a destination for snorkeling enthusiasts and also for those who practice scuba diving for the presence of the "Christ the Redeemer". The life-size statue was designed and positioned on a 15 m deep seabed between La Cacciarella and Cala Grande by the divers of the Stefano Mascioli Club. Near the cove there is the "Grotta del Turco", so called because inside it was found the body of a Saracen with a belt full of gold coins. But there is also a legend that attributes the name to the fact that the cavity would have offered shelter to fishermen fleeing from Turkish pirates.
