Ireland’s oldest extant harp is the Harp of Brian Boru (Irish Gaelic for "Cláirseach Brian Boru"), a small 30-string harp dating back to the 14th century. The harp is named after the legendary Irish king Brian Boru, who ruled Ireland from the year 1002 until his death at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014.The Harp of Brian Boru is considered an important national icon and one of the symbols of Ireland. The harp has been preserved and restored over the years and is now on display at Trinity College Dublin, where it can be admired by visitors.
