The Kuchlbauer Tower is the landmark of Kuchlbauer’s World of Beer.is intended to be a beautiful work of art, conceived by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, one of the most successful painters of the 20th century, and serve as a gift for many people. In particular for the people of Abensberg, the district of Kelheim with the Hallertau area and as a „beer art tower“ for the whole of Bavaria. The original plans for a 70-metre high tower were designed in 1999 by Friedensreich Hundertwasser for Leonhard Salleck. Unfortunately, a tower of that height could not be built. Following Hundertwasser´s death, those plans served as inspiration for the current Kuchlbauer Tower, which was re-designed and planned by Hundertwasser´s long-standing friend and co-worker Peter Pelikan (2007-2009).The Kuchlbauer Tower is dedicated to Bavarian beer and its breweries. It symbolises all the elements of beer and the art of brewing, which has been cultivated in Bavaria since the year dot. ( See the photo )
