Kolumba one of the most interesting architectural recoveries signed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. Formally its history begins in 1996, but in fact it has much older origins. In fact, the institution stands on the ruins of a late Gothic church that was destroyed during World War II. On these remains, in the late 1940s, Gottfried Böhm built the chapel of "Our Lady of Rubble," and in 1957 the Chapel of the Sacrament.
