Surrounded by gently rolling tree-covered hills, Barren River Lake is a water lover’s paradise. With over 10,000 acres of water, the Lake and its surrounding area provide a great and memorable place for fishing, boating, skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sunning, camping, horseback riding, hiking, walking, and simple relaxation. The lake contains crappie, smallmouth bass, white bass, channel catfish and bluegill. The largest hybrid striped bass ever taken in Kentucky was caught in Barren River Lake.
