The International Wine Label Museum is housed within the MIG | Musei In Grotta museum complex and was created in 1987 on the initiative of art critic Prof. Armando Ginesi, through donations from wine producers from all over the world and collectors. It has over one hundred thousand pieces.
The Museum consists of an original collection of labels for wine bottles from all over the world. Alongside the historical collection, with rare pieces dating back to the late nineteenth century, there is a large contemporary collection and artistic selection, with hundreds of sketches inspired by the wine of famous Italian and foreign artists.
Every year the Etichetta d’Artista graphic review (in July) and the Etichetta d’Oro national award (in September) are dedicated to the label.
