Il Roman-Germanic Museum

The Römisch-Germanisches Museum is a museum institution in Cologne that contains archaeological artifacts from prehistoric, Roman, and Frankish times found in the city’s urban area. It is located right next to the Cathedral and the central train station. Opened on November 24, 1961, it was built around an important mosaic found as a result of post-war recovery work. The mosaic depicts various scenes from the life of Dionysus.
