The Vormauerstein is a magnificent panoramic mountain with fantastic views of the Wolfgangssee, Attersee and the surrounding mountains.
From the village centre, head uphill on the gravel forest path no. 26, which is mostly in the forest and evenly steep. From the centre, the trail climbs a good steep slope before reaching the beautiful Vormaueralm after a good 2 hours.
From there there is a short hike to the summit, or there are other paths, for example to the Schafberg via the Purtschellersteig.
