The Codex Purpureus Rossanensis, unique in the world for its breadth and originality, is an illuminated Greek Gospel Book of the V-VI century.
Written in Greek, it is nothing more than a Gospel Book containing all the Gospel of Matthew, almost all that of Mark and a quarter of Eusebius’ letter on the Gospels and their concordance. A text, however, of which the authors are ignored and among other things mutilated 188 the parchments worked in purple and written in Greek onciale and without separation of words, as there are no accents, punctuation marks: in short, a unicum of its kind. The Codex Purpureus Rossanensis has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
