A Guinness World Record beach. It’s Australia’s Hyams Beach in New South Wales, which has been declared the whitest beach in the world. Located 180 kilometres from Sydney, it’s part of the Jervis Bay Marine Park and, thanks to its calm waters, is perfect for paddling and snorkelling.
Here you can spot dolphins and seals, meet penguins. And off shore you can spot humpback and right whales on their annual migration along the NSW coast. To watch them, there are tours from nearby Huskisson, north of Hyams Beach.
Behind the beach is the White Sands Walk, an hour-long stroll that takes in Greenfield Beach and Vincentia, through the park’s protected forest.
