Heringsdorf Pier

The 508-meter wooden structure from 1891-1893 was the longest pier in Europe at the time of opening. Destroyed in a fire in 1958, it was replaced by the existing promenade only in 1995. The pavilion, the main building, stands on land and is laid out like a metropolitan passageway with café, bar, shops and galleries. There is also a shell museum, cinema and fitness club.
