The Islet of Virgin Mary is a wonderful little island, located opposite of the port of Parga! The island has two churches and a small beach "Amopouli". The visitors can reach the island by pedal boat (5 min), by sea bot (3min) or swimming !
On the island still exist a fortress built at 1808, as we read on it’s stones "Défense de la Patrie a.D. 1808", by the French during their stay here (1797- 1814) in order to control the entry of small boats in the harbor, which was not visible from the Venetian castle on top of the town.
