Known as the "White House" of Slovakia, the Grassalkovich Palace is the official seat of the President of the Slovak Republic.
Built in Baroque style in 1760, it is currently not possible to visit the interior. Although it is a pity not to admire the sumptuous rooms, the exterior of the Grassalkovich Palace itself is considered a masterpiece of the city of Bratislava. Surrounded by beautiful gardens with statues and benches, and featuring a spherical fountain, the palace is targeted by tourists every year, especially at the long-awaited time of the changing of the guard at 1 p.m. Its large French-style garden, located at the back of the palace, is one of Bratislava’s most popular parks and definitely worth a visit.
