The Nature Reserve of Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin is one of the major tourist attractions of the Islands of Guadeloupe.
Located in the western part of the archipelago and precisely on the island of Basse-Terre, this fascinating nature reserve has been included by UNESCO in the exclusive list of Biosphere Reserves.
Characterized by a predominantly mountainous morphology, the island is home to a lush tropical forest covering 17,000 hectares. This bay offers a unique biodiversity, a fragile balance that ensures the preservation of many animal and plant species.
Incredible are the mangrove forests, a real cradle for fauna, rich in resident or migratory seabirds, numerous species of fish, turtles, molluscs, crustaceans and reptiles.
This immense naturalistic basin is the ideal environment if you love contact with nature and outdoor activities, in a scenario that combines sea and mountains, wild nature and the absence of dangerous animals.
This marvellous context hosts the approximately 15,000 hectares of the Reserve, within which you will be able to enjoy unique experiences, practising various activities ranging from scuba diving to kayaking, from cycling in the coastal area to long walks. All this under the watchful and careful supervision of the operators present on the spot and in an extremely pleasant climate, tropical but moderate and characterized by a long dry season that goes from December to April.
