The Gran Zebrù (Königsspitze in German) is a mountain of 3857 m a.s.l. in the Ortles-Cevedale group, of which it is the second highest peak after the Ortles. The first ascent of the Gran Zebrù was in August 1864, by the English alpinists Francis Fox Tuckett, T. F. and E. N. Buxton as well as the Swiss alpine guides Christian Michel and Franz Biner. N. Buxton as well as the Swiss alpine guides Christian Michel and Franz Biner.
The group started the ascent from the village of Santa Caterina Valfurva in the province of Sondrio. After 7 hours the five mountaineers reached the summit and then descended to Solda in the Vinschgau Valley. Mountaineers can rejoice: this summit awaits you with adventurous climbs and a breathtaking 360° panorama. However, we only recommend this tour to experts and people with a medium to high alpine level. Sometimes the itinerary is underestimated, but almost all routes pass through glaciers and therefore the use of crampons and ropes is absolutely necessary.
