La gola dell’ Aare si trova tra Meiringen e Innertkirchen, é lunga ca. 1’400 m e profonda 200 m con una larghezza a volte da 1 a 2 m. Il punto più largo misura 40 metri, mentre quello più stretto soltanto un metro. L’escursione al crepuscolo è un’esperienza particolare: in luglio e agosto, da venerdì a sabato la gola dell’Aare è aperta e illuminata fino alle 22 (entrata solo all’ingresso ovest!). Si trova nella valle dell’Hasli incastonata tra i passi alpini di Brünig, Grimsel e Susten. Grazie alla forza dell’acqua e del vento nel corso dei millenni si é formato questo spettacolare canyon.
