Golden Bauhinia Square in Hong Kong

Golden Bauhinia Square In 1997, marks the important occasion of the return of Hong Kong, the former British colony to the People’s Republic of China, and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). In celebration, China’s Central Government presented a gilded bauhinia statue to Hong Kong. The statue was placed in the square next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre facing the Wan Chai waterfront.
