The most significant moment of Progetto Cultura is the creation of the Gallerie d’Italia. Under this name, Intesa Sanpaolo’s museum and cultural hubs throughout Italy come together: the bank’s historic buildings located in the heart of Italian cities are used as exhibition venues to make the most important collections owned by the bank accessible.
The stated ambition is to create a network that embraces the entire country, made up of places suitable for encouraging the public’s interest and approach to art in its various expressions, centres designed to host temporary exhibitions, cultural and scientific initiatives, music programmes and educational workshops. The Gallerie d’Italia – Piazza Scala, Intesa Sanpaolo’s museum and cultural centre in Milan, housed in a prestigious architectural complex located in the heart of the city, offers around 400 works of art from the nineteenth to the twentieth century, accompanying visitors through two centuries of Italian art.
The museum " section; From Canova to Boccioni" exhibits 197 works from the 19th century, from Neoclassicism to the dawn of Futurism, from the collections of the Fondazione Cariplo and Intesa Sanpaolo.
The exhibition path "Cantiere del’900.2" collects 79 works, articulated around thematic strands that relate different poetics and trends and that span the entire twentieth century.
