The charming Franciscan Convent of Scarzuola, founded by St. Francis of Assisi in 1218, was purchased and restored by the Milanese architect Tomaso Buzzi in 1956. Between 1958 and 1978, next to the convent, Buzzi designed and built his Ideal City, conceived as a theatrical machine". The Buzziana City, which includes a set of 7 theatres, has at its peak the Acropolis: a mountain of buildings built by a numerous series of archetypes which, empty inside and equipped with many compartments as in a termitaio, reveal multiple perspectives.
