Villa Peyron al Bosco di Fontelucente of the Bardini and Peyron Monumental Parks Foundation is one of the most beautiful villas of the Fiesole hill.
The entire complex of the villa, the formal garden, the vast grounds, the woods and the surrounding olive groves are located in a splendid position with a spectacular view of Florence to the south and, eastward, a framing of Castel di Poggio.
It owes its name to the luxuriant nearby wood from which it emerges with its Italian gardens and, uphill from the villa, a sixteenth century fountain which supplies the falling water necessary for the functioning of the numerous fountains in the grounds and a small lake. The villa was presumably built over Etruscan ruins of which there are clear traces underground and in the immediate vicinity like the walls surrounding the lake.
