Ferriere Suspension Bridge, the longest in Europe

Did you know that in Tuscany you can cross the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Europe? We are talking about the Ponte delle Ferriere, a suspended steel footbridge built in 1920 to connect the two banks of the river Lima and thus improve the viability of the valley. This Guinness World Record-breaking bridge, just 80 centimetres wide, is 227 metres long and 37 metres above the riverbed. Crossing it is an experience that we do not recommend to those who suffer from vertigo, but which transports those who dare to do so into an Indiana Jones-like adventure film.
