Experimentarium City is Denmark’s only hands-on science centre. Usually situated in the old bottling hall of the Tuborg Brewery, it’s currently housed at Christianshavn while its premises are being refurbished. Renamed Experimentarium City for the time being, visitors of all ages can interact with more than 300 entertaining and informative exhibits, of which the star turn is a surf simulator allowing visitors to ride a giant wave without getting wet. The centre also stages science demonstrations, workshop activities and special exhibitions aimed at turning children on to the wonders of science. Youngsters have their own area where they can let off steam by dancing, playing ball or building houses, and the new temporary location boasts a skating rink overlooking Copenhagen harbour.
