The Food and Wine Museum of Compiano houses objects that characterized the kitchens of the Valley between the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century and tools related to the ancient craft production of local products of Valtaro and the Province of Parma, traditions lost or changed over time by technical evolution.
Compiano and its territory are rich in traditions linked to work and the production of excellent food products of international renown such as Parmigiano di Montagna, cold cuts, porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and other products of the land. These traditions, lost or changed over time by technical evolution, come back to life in the story of the videos and objects that set up the museum.
There are also vintage advertising materials, tools related to the production and preservation of local food, ancient utensils used by farmers, butchers and cheesemakers, as well as an exhibition showcase of food products with the possibility of purchase.
