Trakošćan Castle, located in northern Croatia, is somehow considered a “small” observation fortress. The building dates back to the 13th century and was taken over by Croatian Ban Juraj Draskovic for his personal use. It stayed within the Draskovic until World War II. Inside, the castle contains examples of baroque furniture and different weapons used from 15th to 19th century. Outside, stunning gardens and a large lake year-round.
