Near Milan, in Parabiago, there is the Bonsai Museum, which houses a valuable collection of plants, first of all a thousand-year-old ficus. In addition to the plant species, the museum also collects antique books about the world of bonsai.
It was founded by Luigi Crespi in 1991 and is still the only one of its kind in the world. It covers an area of about 600 square meters and is perfect for those who want to get closer to this interesting culture: the museum offers various information on the history of bonsai and its evolution and also shows historical artifacts, unique collections and prestigious Chinese and Japanese vases from the Qing, Tokugawa and Meiji periods.
