Small alleys paved with river stones, ups and downs, noble palaces and houses with slate roofs. How can you not immediately love Compiano, a small Apennine village in the province of Parma, linked to a magical history made up of mountain wanderers who travelled all over Europe to play at village fairs. Compiano is situated on a rocky spur that rises on the left bank of the river Taro, in Emilia Romagna but wedged between Liguria and Tuscany. The ancient village is dominated by a castle.
