In Baños de Cerrato, is the Basilica of San Juan de Baños, one of the most important Visigothic temples of our heritage. Although the building has undergone different reforms, the original Visigothic plan remains intact. It was built by King Recesvint in the 7th century as thanks for the healing of his kidney ailments in the medicinal waters of the Roman baths that are located a few meters away. Above the main arch is a tombstone with the consecrating inscription of the king Recesvint.
It was declared a National Monument in 1897.
