The church of Santa Caterina in Formiello, which with an imposing dome dominates the surrounding area, was so called because it was built next to the "formal" water, the ancient city aqueducts. The building, built in the ‘500, is a significant part of an ancient convent, which became a military wool mill in the ‘800. It has a refined baroque decoration inside. The frescoes are by Luigi Garzi and Guglielmo Borremans between 1695 and 1709. In the apse area there are the marble tombs of the Spinelli family.
