Chinatown

Chinatown dates back to 1819, when Sir Stamford Raffles established Singapore, designating areas for ethnic groups. Much of Chinatown has been restored with colourful alleys of shophouses selling everything from chicken soup to Chinese medicinal herbs. The street is lively and don’t miss the ‘bak kwa’ (barbecued pork) shops on New Bridge Road.
