On 29 December, in the mountainous area in southwest China, in the province of Guizhou, opened the highest bridge in the world: between the Beipanjiang bridge and the river below there are in fact 565 meters. The bridge will greatly reduce connections between the cities of Liupanshui, in Guizhou Province, and Xuanwei, in Yunnan Province: if before the journey took more than four hours, now it takes less than two. The Beipanjiang bridge is about 1,341 meters long, has four lanes and the work to build it took three years: it cost the equivalent of more than 130 million euros.
